This is an exciting opportunity for a hard working, ambitious, dedicated Lead Practitioner to join our happy and successful primary school, on a permanent basis.

The start date for the position is September 2024. We are an outstanding (Feb 2016, revalidated September 2021) two form entry primary school where we aim to help all our children

The successful Lead Practitioner will model excellent practice; sharing their skills and experience with other teachers.

They will work closely with the Key Stage Leaders and Deputy Head, in order to role model the very best practice in teaching and learning, and to impact and influence teaching across school.

There may also be times and/or projects where they will lead across the school.

The practitioner will take a leadership role in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practice in the workplace that contribute to school improvement


This might include:

  • Coaching, mentoring and induction of teachers, including trainees and ECTs
  • Disseminating resources (including support staff) and advising on practice, research and CPD provision
  • Assessment and impact evaluation, including through demonstration lessons and classroom observation
  • Helping teachers who are experiencing difficulties
  • Support the implementation of whole school initiatives
  • Whole school INSET planning and delivery
  • Curriculum area teaching and learning support for a whole team or an individual
  • Reporting to governors, including writing termly reports for their areas of responsibility
  • Managing the performance of individuals within their key stages
  • To always put the children at the heart of ALL decision making
