Assistant Accountant
Location - North Manchester
Salary - £28,000-£31,500
Simpson Judge are working with a higher education establishment based in North Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the business as an Management Accountant, in a broad role supporting monthly reporting alongside various analyses, reportingto the Head of Finance.


Responsibilities include:

  • Produce monthly management accounts
  • Prepare monthly Cashflow forecasts
  • Ensure financial advice and guidance is provided to budget holders
  • Work closely with the Estates team to develop systems and processes to monitor:
  • Supplier master management
  • Contract management
  • Community Wealth Building processes and monitoring
  • Pricing reviews for all spend categories
  • Preparation and delivery of monthly procurement reports to highlight cost savings and efficiency gains
  • Reconciliation of ILR to remittances
  • Assist in VAT return
  • Forecast year end position and analysis

Skills/Qualifications:

  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA Partqualified & studying
  • Previous experience assisting with management accounts
  • Public Sector experience preferable
  • Strong communication skills
