What you will do
Are you a Buyer or an aspiring Senior Buyer who has experience working in the Mechanical & Electrical industries, negotiating contracts for direct product and services? If so, then we have outstanding opportunity for you Johnson Controls rely on a broad range of materials and sub-contractors who support our Integrated Solutions, Controls and Energy businesses.
Your focus will be to manage these categories areas reviewing internal spend, supporting on customer projects and identifying saving opportunities.
In this role you will need to understand spend requirements, negotiate prices and handle commercial and contractual interactions with supplier companies.
How you will do it
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and support Procurement Manager to implement sourcing strategies
- Support contract negotiations across the supplier portfolio
- Work on critical revenue growth projects with senior visibility
- Manage supplier performance, relationships. Chair business reviews with strategic suppliers.
- Review and manage supplier base. Identify and select new sustainable suppliers & subcontractors that will bring added value and support our business growth
- Deliver cost savings
- Build savings pipeline activity and track delivery against plans
- Facilitate and support process such as supplier on boarding, evaluations, and audits
- Create and issue RFIs and RFQs through the eSourcing platform
- Proactively capture and track industry and market trends
Who we look for
Required:
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Procurement environment, ideally within Mechanical and Electrical industries
- Experience working to tight project deadlines
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Can-Do Attitude, able to make things happen and get things done
- Demonstrated resilience when under pressure
- Ability to act on your own initiative
- Ability to influence senior management team and key stakeholders to deliver commercial results
- Creativity, flexibility and ability to work with some ambiguity
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland when required
Preferred:
- Experience in sourcing for the Fire & Security, Smart Buildings, Construction or Energy sectors
- Experience in procurement subcontract management, e.g. negotiation, contract and terms and conditions
- Knowledge or experience of eSourcing
- Preferably with CIPS accreditation or equivalent
