Job Purpose


Reporting to the National Soil Sampling Coordinator, you will be an integral member of the soil sampling team, engaging with LimeX customers to collect soil samples, analyse results and plot maps for Account Managers to feedback to LimeX customers.

You will work closely with the National Soil Sampling Coordinator and the wider Agricultural Team and will play an important role in continually improving the process and sampling offer we make to our customers.

You will also offer assistance to the Agricultural Technical Support Team to collect and record National Crop Survey Data.


Core Accountabilities

  • Interpreting maps in preparation for soil sampling
  • Engaging with customers to arrange for their fields to be sampled
  • Taking samples from customers fields and preparing for pH testing and nutrient analysis.
  • Analysing samples for pH and record keeping.
  • Assist in stock management of consumables in the soil sampling team.
  • Identifying and communicate Continuous Improvement activity in the soil sampling team.
  • Use mapping software to produce high quality accurate maps for Account Managers/LimeX customers.
  • Train new team members in sample taking, mapping and analysis.
  • Assist Agricultural Technical Support Team in data collection and data entry from National Crop Survey Fields.

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience of working in soil sampling team and in an outdoor environment
  • Good IT skills particularly MS Excel and Pear Mapping (although training can be given)
  • Good communication skills including sharing data with team members
  • Ability to organise and prioritise
  • Driven with a desire to achieve and deliver high quality service
  • Works on own initiative and ability to work as part of a team
