You will have overall responsibility for the scope of planning aspects within the supply chain from supplier to fit point and empty return.

The Logistics Planner has responsibility for the detailed planning for all logistics processes, by liaising with other key process partners (e.g., central planning network, material planning, physical logistics, assembly logistics planner, project steering and finance) ensuring that the total supply chain is consistent, viable, cost effective and efficient.

Feedback is an essential element of a logistics planner role to ensure standards and methods are adhered to and any new developments understood and implemented by the team.


As the Logistics Planner your duties/responsibilities will include:

  • Create Supply concept for all part families from supplier to fitment point, including packaging transport and warehousing and secondary handling. Be responsible for any optimisations, resource relocations, engineering changes, new vehicle projects, new model launches and reference value chains concerning the planner's scope.
  • Identify and remove waste/handling steps from the supply chain
  • Evaluate and input evaluation costs for gAMS changes or project supplements, transport changes or overall cost impact of new model for plant Oxford Logistics
  • Work to the RSML reference model and the logistics target picture, ensuring all business decisions align with the target picture.
  • Coordinate and lead realisation/implementation team status for all projects
  • Coordinate and lead nomination supply strategies to ensure most efficient supply chain
  • Implement handover and sign off process to operations. At synchro points sign off logistics contents and status reviews
  • Communicate with all process partners involved in the supply chain including external suppliers, hauliers, shipping lines, logistics providers
As the Logistics Planner, you should have the following skills and competencies:

  • Supply processes, supply chain interaction in multi-national environment (referring to legislation, technical standards, and others), product design and development, manufacturing and logistics, lean production, business, and financial processes.
  • Previous experience within OEM product and process for both planning and operational business
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to develop appropriate visions and strategies and turn these into actions.
  • Ability to handle pressure whilst solving problems and conflicts.
  • Ability to work in a wider network with interfaces in central planning departments, other plants, and the product line.
  • German language skills are desirable
