Digital Footprints Data¿including social media and internet derived data, geospatial data, sensor and image data, and transactional and commercial data¿are poised to revolutionise social science research.

To reach the potential these data offer for meeting societal challenges and contributing to impactful and innovative social science research, a number of challenges must be met.

We are seeking a dynamic and engaged post-doctoral research associate to work as part of a Strategic Advice Team to provide the ESRC with input to help shape their Digital Footprints Data programme.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for an early career researcher to gain expertise in ¿the science of science¿ where social science research and Digital Footprints Data are concerned.
The Research Associate will work closely with Team members from Newcastle University, the University of Liverpool, and the Alan Turing Institute, as well as with the ESRC, to develop outreach activities, questionnaires and workshops and to communicate findings in written reports, meetings, and presentations.
  • You will join the Digital Media and Society Institute and the Department of Communication and Media at University of Liverpool This is unique opportunity for a social sciences oriented communications scholar to work with world class researchers on the social, cultural, political and methodological aspects of digital media.
The post is available on a fixed term basis, until 30 September 2024.**Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.

Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their.
