Description

Grade 7 - £60,632 - £78,122**
Head of Service, Licensing, Markets and Private Rented Sector
Are you ready to demonstrate your strengths in making a difference to our citizens through your success as a leader?

Our Regulation and Enforcement team is at the forefront of change across our city. And we're growing at pace.

Partnering with colleagues, external agencies and citizens alike, we've created a management team of passionate individuals who lead our work in Licensing, Markets and the Private Rented Sector.

This could be your opportunity to lead the Service.

There'll be opportunities to support a growing and delivery-focused team, tackling multiple issues or challenges at the same time and demonstrating creativity in finding solutions.

  • The Licensing Service comprises 3 different teams who jointly deliver administration and compliance of thousands of licensed people, places and vehicles.
  • The Markets service is income generating and key to delivering the historic markets of Birmingham.
  • The work of the Private Rented Sector team is influenced and directed by the legislation that ensures we protect tenants from illegal eviction and harassment. Also, that landlords maintain the standards of properties to ensure tenants' health and safety.

We'd like to hear about your strengths in creating cohesive teams to deliver income targets and statutory services, as well as your programme and stakeholder management capability.

We'll provide you with opportunities to influence policy development and demonstrate your performance management and monitoring skills.

This is about managing multiple stakeholders and multi-agency partnerships.

Experience of delivering services within complex statutory frameworks and working directly with elected members through committee structures is a pre-requisite.

There are unique opportunities on offer whether that's building the Private Rented sector team or transitioning the markets service as part of the Smithfield Development over the next decade.

Isn't it time to tell us about your aspirations and how you fit in?
