Emergency Planning and Corporate Risk Officer

£33,024 - £36,648 (pay award pending) | Full Time | Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Public Health and Community Safety Service at Torridge District Council.

We are looking to appoint a motivated Emergency Planning and Corporate Risk Officer.

This role will work with the Operational Management Team to ensure risk management practices and policies are current and that there are robust reporting and recording processes in place for health and safety incidents.

The post holder will work with the Public Health and Community Safety Manager and regional partners to ensure the council fulfils its responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act and associated guidance documents.


This role is a key role within the Council to coordinate, develop and enhance our plans and policies to address internal and external risks.

The role involves a diverse range of responsibilities to develop and enhance the council's resilience and emergency preparedness.

You will work with staff, managers and partners to enhance and embed awareness of relevant policies and plans, ensuring the council's readiness to respond to a variety of incidents.

You will also provide specialist advice and guidance to those who have a role in incident response.

Applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues.

It is important that the post holder is able to prioritise their workload and have the ability to recognise the importance of meeting deadlines.
