RJAH is offering an exciting opportunity to train to become an Anaesthetic Associate.

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine, including research into disorders of bone, joints and muscle.

The training course is through Birmingham University, with the majority of training delivered on placement at RJAH. Further details of the AA course at Birmingham university can be found here

The role of Anaesthesia Associate is rapidly evolving and training will be tailored to service the trust requires of the qualified AA.

It is envisaged that working with a consultant anaesthetist the AA will undertake pre-operative assessment, cannulation, induction, airway instrumentation, regional anaesthesia, spinal anaesthesia, extubation and emergence as well as advanced vascular access.
