Numeracy skills are an everyday part of our lives and give us the ability to think critically about the world around us.

EBCF want to help people improve their ability to understand and use maths in daily life, home, and work:
helping to manage household finances, or improving numeracy skills specific to a line of work.

To achieve this, we are offering a range of options and flexible courses that fit around people's lives and are tailored to specific needs, circumstances, sectors, and industries.


We are working with West Midlands residents aged 19 and over who don't have maths GCSE at grade C (or equivalent), to build their confidence with numbers.

We are recruiting highly motivated and resourceful maths tutors to deliver these numeracy programmes.

Tutors who can deliver flexible models of delivery in the workplace; face to face and virtual, a really blended offer with a range of duration, intensity, and timings to suit the needs of employed learners.

Whilst we have a bank full of resources for this delivery, you will have the autonomy to tailor these to individualise them for the needs of your learners to enable them to overcome any maths barriers and improve their ability to understand and use maths to make a difference to their lives.


Key Responsibilities:


Tutor:


  • To carry out initial and diagnostic assessment to inform high quality, innovative delivery, which challenges and inspires learners and includes clear objectives, involving learners in the planning, review, and evaluation process
  • To deliver effective and high quality negotiated numeracy provision across a range of ability groups (Entry
  • Level 2) to meet all relevant academic and funding criteria and which enables learners to meet their personal learning goals
  • To continuously monitor course effectiveness and assess learner development through individual learning plans to inform teaching strategies which ensure learner and programme success
  • To deliver general advice and guidance with reference to progression, preprogramme information, including specification of programme entry criteria
  • To produce and/or tailor relevant and motivational teaching materials, undertaking necessary research in order to deliver programmes to fulfil the needs of the learners
  • To ensure all administrative procedures are kept up to date prior to, during and after the programme (i.e., keeping a register, marking work, monitoring absence, completing funding documentation) to ensure all compliance and quality procedures and funding requirements are met
  • To attend and contribute to team meetings, standardisation meetings and IQA activity as required

General:


  • Maintain an awareness of and actively follow and promote Company policies, including, but not limited to, Safer Recruitment, Data Protection, Information Security, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Prevent
  • Undertake any training as required by Company policy and take responsibility for professional development

  • Previous experience of delivering engaging and meaningful learning activities and training workshops
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Highlevel communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • IT proficient with an ability to use Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to be supported to work towards a teaching qualification

Desirable qualifications/attainments, experience, knowledge, and skills:

  • Teaching qualification (CTLLS, PTLLS, AET, PGCE)
  • Maths qualification at GCSE C/Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level
  • Experience delivering maths from Entry Level 1 through to Level
  • Experience meeting challenging contractual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local labour market, sector skills gaps, local employment and skills provision, specialist support networks, and education and training providers
