Job Introduction

Our Housing, Property and Regeneration team are looking for Programme Support Officer to join them on a fixed term contract basis.

You'll be joining an existing team of Project Support Officers, providing valued support across six teams, to ensure projects are delivered effectively.


This is a unique opportunity to work right across the directorate on varied projects ranging from facilities management and business support, asset development or Investment partnerships, working with local authorities, private sector and central government partners.


Working in collaboration with colleagues, you'll work on programmes, business case development and delivery, focussing on communications, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.


Please note that this role is being offered on a fixed term basis until October 2024

What will you be doing?

  • Working on and enabling the delivery of identified and agreed business critical projects core to the HP&R annual deliverables agreed by the WMCA Board
  • Develop work around the delivery mechanisms and priorities of key projects, identifying key areas of performance and addressing requirements accordingly.
  • Identifying opportunities for business improvement, and supporting delivery in collaboration with colleagues from across the directorate, reporting to the HPR Heads of Service
  • Reporting regularly on the progress and outcomes of critical projects throughout planning and delivery stages at project reviews and to Boards
  • Provide internal Board Secretariat, support and governance development as required by the Housing & Regeneration Leadership Team
  • Tracking project activity against key milestones and targets, ensuring that all documentation is appropriately stored and managed in SharePoint and accessible as required.

You'll have experience of supporting varied projects and programmes and have a willingness to learn about the work our Housing, Property and Regeneration teams deliver.

Location and working pattern - what you can expect.
The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane.

It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 1 day a week spent in the office.
