Associate Director AML Advisory


What is the opportunity?


During this 12 month contract you will work as part of the Jersey AML Compliance Team, reporting to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and will support the Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) and MLRO, Jersey with the management of financial crime risk and the provision of AML Advisory services, with particular focus on the client relationships held under RBC Brewin Dolphin Jersey.


What will you do?
Support the ongoing operation of the AML Compliance model in Jersey, as it relates to the business.


The core activities will include:

  • To support the MLCO and MLRO Jersey with the provision of AML Advisory Services to the RBC Brewin Dolphin Jersey business
  • Assist with the management of higher risk business activities and relationships (including PEPs) as well as specific AML/CFT issues and exposures.
  • Support testing and oversight of AML program
  • Prepare management information and reporting for review by stakeholders as required, including board and management reports.
  • Review and implementation of Jersey AML Legislation and Regulation
  • Provide input to the drafting and maintenance of AML local policies and procedures, as requested
  • Assist with managing responses to local regulator inquiries, surveys, questionnaires and lead preparation for onsite reviews or audits
  • Take into consideration, incorporate and participate in Group wide Compliance initiatives
  • Keep abreast of changes to regulatory and legislative rules and principles including attending lectures, seminars and training courses (where possible)
  • Collaborate with other AML and Compliance team members as necessary for continuous improvement of processes and to share best practices
  • Primary daytoday contact for the Business, including related project work
  • Provide assistance to the wider AML Compliance Team as and when required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University degree and/or appropriate designations as compliance professional, professional designation in other appropriate areas such as law, risk management and/or audit.
  • A broad knowledge of the Jersey Financial Crime and Regulatory framework
  • Proven experience holding key person roles in the Financial Services industry, preferably in Jersey
  • Ability and willingness to accept accountability, demonstrate initiative, work with limited direct supervision and support effective cross unit cooperation information sharing
  • Creative/strategic/analytical thinker able to demonstrate sound analysis and judgement and prove sound, clear and practical advice to businesses
  • Strong Verbal and written skills; ability to generate concise reports

Nice-to-have

  • Hold a recognised relevant professional qualification
  • Have AML experience in relation to investment products
