This position will be response for identifying customers & solutions in new & existing markets, while developing the product & technology roadmaps necessary to serve them.

Given this is a new & emerging market the primary focus of the life cycle will be identifying customer needs through pursuit & order capture, and the technology development via internal & external funded programs.


This will be an on-site role working out of our ECMS site in Solihull, UK at least 3 days a week.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Identify markets & the technology most important requirements to win customers in our commercial & military segments.
  • Serve as the local business development lead at the site, coordinated & aligned to the value stream & EPS organization.
  • Mature product technology to serve these markets achieving customer technical requirements, cost, schedule & industrialization plan.
  • Assess competitors in electric propulsion & develop strategies that offer differentiated solutions that positions Collins as the market leader.
  • Establish pricing, negotiate, and manage timely submittal of proposals, quotations, and contracts.
  • Seek external funding sources to offset the company investments through public or private partnerships, while maximizing all investments with reuse & aligning product & technical roadmaps.
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, proactively identify risks to ensure completion on time & at cost.
  • Represent our company with our customers and manage the program to meet contract requirements, including delivery schedules, cost, and technical specifications.
  • Represent programs with our company senior management, managing and reporting revenue, technical issues, capital expenditure, new business development, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage all aspects of revenue and spending, forecasting, cost management, engineering/program spending and departmental budgets.
  • Be responsible for assuring that all functional aspects of the group perform in a manner which supports business unit and program/customer commitments, including Program Management, Finance, Quality, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, and Contracts across all Collins sites & organizations.
  • Manage all customer interfaces and resolve customer satisfaction issues.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers at all levels, demonstrate the ability to balance competing priorities and model a high level of selfmotivation and engagement for your team and IPT.
  • Lead within a matrix organization to achieve business goals and deliver on customer commitments
  • Organize and conduct program status reviews, team meetings, and various other regular business activities
  • Electric propulsion is an evolving new market/product, and the leader will expect to identify resources direct & indirect that will be needed to accomplish the overall objectives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years' experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/

Other Technical Positions:

Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated VSL or Program Management experience in Aerospace/Defense industry experience is preferred
  • BA/BS degree w/10+ years' experience is preferred
  • MBA w/7+ years' experience is preferred
  • PhD degree w/4+ years' experience is preferred
