Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join our Day Case team with a competitive salary range on offer, up to £28,000.

The 21-bedded with en-site Day Case Unit supports the care of patients requiring outpatients intravenous infusions, same day operations and diagnostic procedures.

The unit admits and discharges day case Neuro/Spine, Vascular, Orthopaedics, Upper/Lower GI, Urology, Head & Neck, ENT, Gynaecology, Plastics and Interventional Radiology patients.

What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join our Day Case team.


The Healthcare Assistant will primarily be involved in assisting nursing caregivers while providing direct patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and always working in a manner that promotes privacy and dignity.


The role is to be also required to undertake the safe transfer of patients within the department, floors and other departments, and to build and maintain excellent working relationships with other departments to ensure a seamless service for our patients.

Role information


This is a full time; permanent position would require the post holder to work up to 37.5 hours per week.


A mixture of long (11.5/9.5 hours) and short (7.5 hours) shifts are worked on by the team, from Monday to Friday with some Saturday working requirement.


The maximum salary on offer for this opportunity would be £28,000 and would be dependent upon experience and competencies against the role requirements.


What will your duties include:

  • Responsible for providing basic nursing care to patients under the directions and supervision of trained nursing caregiver.
  • Develop competence in carrying out tasks such as patient hygiene, nutritional requirements, patient observations, electrocardiograms (ECGs), performing Blood Gas tests, and others as required.
  • Use computer system (EPIC and Windows) to access and update patient records.
  • Assist clinical caregivers in transporting patients using different methods of transportation e.g. trolleys, beds.
  • Expectation to rotate between areas as directed by the nurse manager.

What we need from you:

  • To be NVQ L3 in Health & Social Care or a Care Certificate
  • Experience and demonstrable track record of working in a healthcare/nursing environment
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Phlebotomy experience/certification highly desirable
