Description

The Senior Business Support Officer has a critical role in the management of the Environment and Regen hub for Business Support.

Having direct supervision responsibility for approx.

6 staff, alongside leading a wider team of 25 that supports a variety of functions for the Development Services, Public Protection, Technical Services and Regeneration teams.


The post-holder will also play a key role in supporting the development of systems and processes across the wider service areas.


The range of services operating from this team is diverse and many positive changes have been made over recent years, with the introduction of new systems and different ways of working.

The successful post holder will continue to embed and improve existing systems, engaging with colleagues in Corporate Services as part of existing service reviews and digital programmes.


Excellent communication skills are essential with the post holder requiring to engage with, and develop, positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders across the council at all levels, and ultimately to members of the public.

Experience of managing staff and being able to adapt own workload and the priorities of others will be essential.

The operational demands of the Environment and Regen hub can change quickly, the Senior Business Support Officer will need to be able to adapt to the changing demands quickly and professionally.
