About the role:


  • This is the time for action we need to move at pace and reform our energy system to deliver energy security, to tackle climate change and to protect our people.
  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Salesforce Functional Consultant to collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, developers, and administrators, to optimize Salesforce capabilities and drive business growth.
  • This role can be based from Wokingham or Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.

  • As Great Britain's electricity system operator (ESO), we sit at the heart of the electricity system, using our outstanding engineering and commercial expertise to balance electricity supply and demand. Ultimately, we keep the electricity flowing directly to where it's needed, second by second.
    Becoming the Energy Future System Operator
  • As you may have seen the Government and Ofgem have asked the ESO to take on new roles and responsibilities
  • Becoming the Energy Future System Operator is a critical step to help deliver a reliable and clean energy transition for all. The ESO, including all of its existing roles, will be at the heart of the new Future System Operator, taking on additional roles with a whole energy system mindset to drive progress towards net zero while maintaining energy security and minimising costs for consumers.
  • The new organisation will be set up as a public corporation with operational independence from government bringing parties together to support optimised decision making and action. As now, it will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements. It is anticipated that the new organisation will be up and running by or in 202

Key accountabilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive discussions and workshops with stakeholders to understand their business needs and requirements. Translate these requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Utilize your deep understanding of Salesforce functionality to help with designing scalable and efficient solutions that align with business goals and best practices.
  • Assist in data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during the migration process.
  • Develop data models and data mapping documents to give key technical insights.
  • Conduct user training sessions and create training materials to empower endusers to effectively leverage Salesforce features.
  • Assist the quality assurance team in validating the functionality and integrity of Salesforce solutions. Identify and address any defects or issues that arise during testing.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, user guides, and process flow diagrams. Generate reports and provide regular project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams, including developers, administrators, and business users, to ensure successful platform delivery. Effectively communicate platform progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and delivery teams.

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How:

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce capabilities, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Lightning Experience.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working with crossfunctional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing Salesforce projects and driving user adoption.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable solutions.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with Salesforce platform updates and enhancements.

About you:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst/Functional Consultant.
  • Experience with latest tools, best practices, and Agile delivery
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Salesforce Service cloud consultant, Administrator)
  • Desirable
