The opportunity:

The Senior Claims Adjuster will provide a quality focused claims service and is responsible for ensuring the effective and prompt settlement of professional indemnity claims notified to the Commercial Insurance, Specialty Lines Claims Team.

What will you be doing?

Ensure effective and prompt settlement of claims in the professional indemnity business area
Investigate and negotiate claims within defined authority limits
Mentor claims adjusters, acting as a point of referral, technical guidance and providing oversight (authority)
Responsible for file quality reviews (LMRs)
Setting of accurate case reserves
Contribute to high level technical output from Team
Contribute to a positive and supportive Team culture
Management of external counsel and experts both locally and internationally
Promptly handle and resolve all claims enquiries from customers, brokers and third parties
Ability to lead a market through a large and / or complex claim
Manage situations of conflict and have the ability to influence and persuade others
Engage proactively with large numbers of stakeholders, both internally and externally

Who are we looking for?

Numeracy and literacy skills qualified to A level or equivalent
Computerliterate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS office
Proactive and innovative approach to claim solutions from working within technical claims environment
Relevant business/industry qualification
Strong Technical knowledge of all products and services offered by the LOB. (& wider business knowledge to support cross sell opportunities), in particular strong construction professional indemnity experience
Astute and commercially aware with an awareness of the market, business and risks.
Understanding of legislation and legal liability
Excellent understanding of London Market Insurance environment
Interpretation of policy covers
Numerate and analytical thinker with excellent negotiation skills
Ability to deliver Thought Leadership on key topics
A team player with the ability to deliver excellent customer service
Proven experience working in the London Market in a similar role
