Job summary:


  • To fully leverage the benefits of public procurement reform it is key that the nationwide commercial population is aware of the changes to current legislation and has a transition plan underway to harness the benefits these changes offer. The Commercial Capability team is planning to develop and deliver a comprehensive package of guidance, learning and development and support for communities of practice to ensure that the new regime is effectively embedded.

Job description:


As a Community Lead within the Transforming Public Procurement programme you will report into the Head of Communities of Practice and take a lead role in the development of communities of practice to support the planning and preparation for the go-live of the new regime and future embedding of a new learning and development programme.

This will involve stakeholder management, organisation of community meetups and delivery of experiential learning sessions. You will have a collaborative approach, working alongside Commercial Policy leads, the Strategic Engagement team and the Subject Matter Experts who will support throughout the whole life of the project


Key Responsibilities**- Support the planning and preparation for the implementation of the new regime leading into work supporting the strategy, design, delivery and execution of the Communities of Practice product for the programme

  • Independent responsibility to engage and develop key identified stakeholder groups across the Wider Public Sector, Central Government or Suppliers, supporting and enhancing their procurement capability
  • Continuously grow, support and nurture key procurement stakeholder relationships through specific designed and developed 121, team or group workshops or programmes
  • Organisation of community meetups
  • Continuously support the growing community through consistent and continuous communication with contracting authorities in order to understand user needs
  • Develop close and collaborative internal relationships with colleagues in the Commercial Policy and Learning and Development teams
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to create community collateral
  • Provide feedback, advice and input into the programme

Person specification:


Essential Criteria:

***Commercial and procurement background with experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of the Public Sector Procurement process
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Professional gravitas with interpersonal skills enabling rapport building with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to think on your feet and flex your style to the audience based on their learning needs
  • High attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver a topquality customer experience
  • Strong organisational skills with programme delivery (planning and execution) in a range of areas
  • Ability to deliver on time and to the highest quality even in ambiguous circumstances
  • High level of IT skills including experience with a range of Microsoft IT packages
