**A senior gentleman based in the Hexham area, is looking to recruit some carers to support him within his family home. The gentleman has a diagnosis of MS and finds it difficult to manage sometimes, as the effects of his MS include fatigue and poor short-term memory. He is looking for care workers who are male.

  • The gentleman enjoys playing and listening to music.

Hours of work: 11.5hrs per week includes days, evenings and weekends calls
(3 calls a day 7 days a week)

Rates of Pay:
£11.91 per hour

Hexham Area


Main Duties:


  • Support with personal care, some light meal preparation, prompting medication and household tasks, support around pain managing and mental health while helping to reduce the risk of falls when accessing chosen activities. Also, to be flexible to cover for holidays and sickness

_ The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

  • To be calm, patient and understanding

  • Punctual, trustworthy with a happy positive caring nature.
  • Have an outgoing personality
  • Ability to both take instructions and use own initiative.
  • Experience in health & social care desirable experience in working with people with both physical and mental health needs
  • Respect confidentiality is a must

Training:

Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend.

This will include moving and handling, medication awareness and additional training specific to the client.
