Job Description for Chef at The WestwayAs part of our commitment to the community we support elderly and vulnerable users providing a place to socialise, alleviate loneliness and support them living independently within their homes
The Chef plays a crucial role in supporting this vision by;
- Developing exciting, customer driven menus.
- Preparing and cooking healthy food catering to dietary requirements and allergies
- Leading the delivery of all catering to a high standard.
- Creating a dining experience that encourages social interaction.
- Delivering food preparation and maintaining high standards of cooking that meet regulatory and legislative requirements around food
- Meeting dietary requirements of users.
- Ensuring timely and budget conscious delivery of meals.
- Maintaining current industry knowledge to provide professional expertise on allergens
- Producing varied, cost effective menus suitable for a broad range of users.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all work areas
- Provide initial line management for volunteer catering staff and delivering internal training where appropriate.
- Ordering food and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Interacting with users and volunteers politely and professionally to ensure high levels of customer care and volunteer satisfaction.
- Support the Centre Manager and Trustees in initiatives / events/ promotion of the uptake of meals within the Centre and Meals on Wheels
- Engage in delivering efficiencies and improvements
- Assist with Menu design

£12.00-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 per week
