We are recruiting for an
Employee Relations Advisor to be based in our People Team in our head office in
Milton Keynes.

The main purpose of this role is to provide first line ER advice to our colleagues and assist line managers in understanding, and optimising our processes, policies and procedures and supporting them through the process.

You will form trusted relationships with managers and stakeholders across the group.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the business in all first line employee relations matters in line with HR policies and procedures
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable with change.
  • Prioritise and plan how to resolve each case that is assigned to you in a timely manner
  • Coach and develop line manager autonomy, by supporting them through our processes, policies and procedures
  • Work with the wider People Management team on People Projects as required
  • Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with the Employee Relations Team in referring and resolving employee relations cases in a seamless way
  • To be seen as an expert in understanding People policy
  • Take ownership of the flexible working process including making changes on the system
  • Developing brilliant relationships within the business
  • Continually develop your own understanding of employment legislation
  • Work closely with the ER Advisory Team Leader to build knowledge and share best practice within the ER Advisory team and beyond
  • Note take for disciplinaries, grievances, welfare meetings etc
  • Assist the ER Advisory Team Leader to gather value adding data

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:


  • Essential_
  • Previous experience of working within an HR function.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent grammatical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Knowledge of HR Policies and employment law legislation
  • Proactive

  • Must have the ability to work under pressure, and adjust priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • Desirable_
  • CIPD qualified
