As a Risk Business Partner within the ERM Team you will have the opportunity to help drive and embed an effective risk management practice into the first line and developing the maturity across all Service Lines in the firm by delivering proactive, high quality and value-added service as part of a maturing central Risk Function at Mazars.

This internal facing role (First Line of Defence) will principally involve working with the Service Line Leaders and Head of Channel 1 (Audit) Services in designing, implementing, and helping to ensure controls are operating effectively to manage the associated risks.

As a maturing team, you will work closely with the Enterprise Risk Director (Second Line of Defence) until such a time that the First Line has been embedded within the business.

You will report to the Enterprise Risk Director and be part of the wider ERM team; you will also work closely with the Head of Audit Services and Head of Audit Quality, and Service Line Leaders across the business.

They in turn report to the Executive Committee, Chair of the Risk & Quality Committee (RQC), as well as the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC), and Governance Council (GC).

Role & Responsibilities

Leading the design of Frameworks across the Firm., especially building a First Line of Defence model
Shape, build and drive high quality risk management processes, frameworks and culture across the organisation
Responsible for identifying and leading implementation of international /external Frameworks or standards i

e:
BS, ISO Frameworks.

Assessment of implementation of the Frameworks in place across the firm.
Update and standardisation of frameworks.
Inclusion of ISQM 1 and other framework led working groups.
Advise on framework structure relating to major strategic decisions
Embed a positive culture of confident and informed risk taking through training, communication, and promotion of the risk framework
Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

7+ years' experience in risk management, ideally with experience of working in a risk related role within a First Line of Defence position and or business.
Experience designing and implementing controls to manage associated risks.
Experience in assessing control effectiveness and identifying potential weaknesses in their design.
Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions around appropriate actions to take that manage the associated risks.
Professional qualifications in Risk Management such as IRM certification, or relevant degree in risk management is required
Working in a professional services firm or audit background is desirable
Leadership experience to influence and challenge the business agenda to focus on key risk and compliance agendas.
Strong understanding of enterprisewide risk management and the necessary frameworks and structures therein.
Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills including presentation to senior personnel
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Proven decision making and problemsolving skill
Maintaining control and stability under pressure whilst recognising the deadline or urgency to be dealt with in a rapidly changing environment.
