The Scape Finance Team


The Scape UK finance team is based in Harrogate and provides accounting and finance to the UK assets, including operational assets and development assets.

The team's work includes investor reporting, management accounting, statutory reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.


The Role


The role of the Finance Assistant is to provide support to the closely-knit finance team, assisting with the purchase and intercompany sales ledger, but also supporting the wider business.

The purpose of the role is to provide business support by handling all aspects of invoice processing, reconciliations and ensuring all internal and external queries are dealt with in a professional manner.

A keen eye for detail is required due to continued business growth, which will result in exposure to a wide range of areas keeping the role interesting and varied.


Responsibilities

  • Purchase invoice processing for all UK based operational assets, including monitoring coding, cost allocations and approvals in line with company policy
  • Assisting the wider business with PO related queries and monitoring approval workflows
  • Assistance in related prepayments and accruals
  • Involvement in system upgrades and process improvements
  • Preparing supplier payments and posting the cashbook entries
  • Management of Spendesk (cashcard) account and adherence to usage policy
  • Assisting with sales invoicing posting and liaising with site and sales team to resolve related queries
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Handling supplier queries and setting up of accounts
  • Providing support to the wider finance team
  • Support with year end audit

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Ability to take on ownership of working areas
  • Good level of Excel skills and overall IT literacy
  • Strong communication skills with a need to be able to communicate with both finance and nonfinance stakeholders
  • Deliver accurate output within agreed deadlines
  • Understanding of accounting systems
Desirable

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Experience of using Microsoft Navision
  • Understanding of Real Estate
  • AAT Level 4
