An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, credible, senior clinical leader with a passion for improving the quality of patient care and the working environment for staff to join East Midlands Ambulance Service as our new Head of Quality Assurance.


You will play a key professional clinical leadership role within the Trust ensuring the quality of services provided by Third Party Providers and our Divisions including in Emergency Operations Centres, A&E Divisions and Non-emergency Patient Transport Services.

You will work as part of the Quality Directorate with other Heads of Service and local leadership teams to ensure the Trust is able to maintain compassionate, safe and effective care for our patients and a positive working environment for our staff.


You will lead the development and implementation of the Trust's Quality Assurance Programme which will involve both internal and external engagement with stakeholders, oversight of compliance audits and other evidence of compliance with national and local standards.

You will work closely with the relevant management teams ensuring prompt resolution of issues and appropriate response to gaps in assurance leading to continued quality improvement.

You will work as an expert in your field embedding robust governance processes relating to quality assurance and improvement.

You will provide assurance to the Trust Board that the Trust and any Third Party Providers contracted by the Trust meet with national standards, including but not limited to, the Care Quality Commission and Health and Safety Executive, and you will represent the Trust at appropriate fora internally and within the regional Integrated Care Systems (ICS).


You will be educated to degree level or be able to evidence practice at this level and you will hold an active relevant clinical registration and be able to evidence continued post registration professional development.


You will have demonstrable recent experience in relevant specialist area in an NHS or health care organisation (at minimum agenda for change band 7 or equivalent) and proven leadership experience, creating collaborative and effective partnerships.


You will have excellent communication skills and be able to motivate and inspire teams and build effective partnerships both internally and externally.

Above all you will have the necessary enthusiasm, commitment and personal resilience to be highly successful in this role.
