We're looking for a Planner to join our Kier Rail based and helping with the delivery of our Oxford Station project.

Oxford - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

What will your responsibilities be?


As a Planner, you'll be working within Kier Transportation, supporting the Oxford team and with Network Rail, to deliver Oxford Station Phase 2 works which will increase capacity through Oxford Station to accommodate additional services planned from 2024.


Your day to day will include:

  • Working with the project teams, develop and manage the short-term programme process, including reporting to the client.
  • Embed the shortterm plan dashboard an establish the performance management piece using the Aphex asbuilt to ensure that the asbuilt is accurate and that the reasons for noncompletion truly reflect the reason for failure or otherwise.
  • Actively manage and implement a disciplined approach towards Short Interval Control and agreed reporting schedule, in line with project performance expectations
  • Develop phasing diagrams which explain a section or sections of the programme.
  • Develop a key relationship with the project commercial support function and support in commercial weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements.

What are we looking for?
This role of Planner is great for you if:

  • Demonstrable experience in contract planning for a main contractor, including contribution to and execution of change management.
  • Experience within a civils rail project, with complex constraints and multiple stakeholders is desirable.
  • Be able to accurately monitor a programme of works, challenging, contributing, maintaining records of change, trends, and variances, and be able to communicate and adapt to the same.
  • Competency within Primavera P
  • Previous operational site delivery background is also desirable.
