The Department of Computer Science, University of Reading, is expanding and seeking a new academic post at Associate Lecturer level.

The postholder will contribute to the delivery, development and growth of teaching and industry engagement in Computer Science within the Department of Computer Science.


  • A first degree or above in Computer Science or in a related discipline
  • Excellent general knowledge in Computer Science
  • Specific knowledge and skills in Programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Java, Python)
- knowledge and skills in some of the following fields: Data Analytics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Operating Systems

  • Excellent presentation and oral communication skills
  • Ability to supervise undergraduate projects in any area of Computer Science
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use initiative and complete tasks to deadlines
  • Flexibility and adaptability to deal with a range of circumstances and conditions
