Based at Sedbergh Sport and Leisure Centre, Cleckheaton Road, Bradford, BD12 0HZ


The Council's Leisure Service is the largest leisure provider in the district with over 2 million customers each year visiting our sports centres, swimming pools and halls.


Our 'b active' campaign continues to encourage Bradford's residents to be more physically active and we are now seeking additional committed and highly motivated people to help us continue with this work.


Sedbergh Sports and Leisure Centre is now looking to recruit new staff who are lively, enthusiastic and committed to joining our team If you feel you have what it takes, enjoy meeting and working with the public and can provide the highest standards of service we would like to hear from you.


Duties include:


  • Responsible to the Duty Person and Fitness Supervisor for reporting on operations of the running of the fitness class program.
  • Promote physical exercise to members of the public by developing a fitness class program suitable for the demographics of the area.
  • Provide fitness class cover when needed. Liaising closely with members of the public, producing fitness programmes and health screening. Making sure all rooms, machinery and equipment are kept safe, clean and ready to use.
  • Carrying out basic day to day maintenance of equipment, reporting and logging any faults. Assisting with ongoing marketing and promotions of the facility.


The post holder will be part of a team responsible for delivering advice on membership options to members of the public and be instrumental in achieving satisfactory retention of memberships and lowering attrition rates.

Qualifications / experience required:
  • Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction (REPs recognised)
  • Exercise to music.
  • 2+ years' experience of working within a sport or leisure industry.

Desirable qualifications:


  • Any group exercise qualification (REPs recognised).
  • Shallow and Deep water certified (REPs recognised).
  • Level 3 GP referral (REPs recognised).
  • Level 4 Cardiac Rehab (REPs recognised)
