Working directly for the Site Manager, the maintenance engineers' key objectives relate to their involvement in optimising maintenance activities via lean initiatives.
The maintenance lead provides support to the site manager and leads a team of supervision in delivering an optimised maintenance program and an enhanced improvement program.
- Steward onsite safety compliance
- Direct oversight of maintenance plan
- Technical authority for optimised maintenance approaches
- Act as link between maintenance, planning and site operations teams
- Overall accountability for work prioritisation
- Management of the Continuous Improvement Plan
- Production data and process analysis
- Modelling and analysis
- Process and value stream mapping
- Production process design and implementation
- Support and participation in continuous improvement
- Focus on all waste reduction
- Standardization of tasks and processes
- Documentation of procedures and one point lessons.
The Maintenance Lead must have innovative ideas, creative thinking and people skills and be fully conversant in maintenance planning and regimes.
The fundamental purpose of this position is to consistently improve the functioning and overall efficiency of maintenance teams in order to reduce plant defects.
The essential job duties include recognizing problem areas, developing improvement plans, executing those plans, providing assistance for employees and analyzing results.
Must be able to recognize the problem areas of a business, identifying inefficient practices, poor organization and ineffective policies.The Maintenance lead will develop tangible improvement plans prioritising problem areas and will be responsible for delivery against the plans
They will provide assistance to employees in the form training courses or briefing sessions to ensure employees are up to speed with proposed initiatives and company improvements.
