The data we generate provides our clients with the information they need to make critical, well informed, business decisions.

UTEC are currently looking to hire a Proposals Specialist on a full time, permanent basis.

Based at their facility in Westhill, Aberdeen, the Proposals Specialist is to provide a commercial support to the Business Unit for potential, new and existing projects and develop to manage the commercial cost base and/or bid estimating tool.

Duties

Take ownership of the delivery of assigned prequalification, request for information and tendering requirements executed by the Commercial / Business Unit team (generally larger value complex tender submissions) including coordinating inputs from all departments into the final submission package to a professional standard and seeking senior management approvals, as necessary.
Prepare cost estimates using the approved Bid Estimating Tool including sourcing external costs as required.
Prepare commercial and coordinate technical and contractual input into tender risk assessments, tender clarifications, tender qualifications, and tender approvals.
Prepare and deliver a comprehensive handover for won work to Projects and Operations, transferring knowledge and responsibility to Projects and Operations.
Provide ongoing general support to Projects and Operations concerning any tender stage queries / clarifications.
Seek client feedback for lost opportunities.
Actively participate and lead by example in the Company's Quality and HSE Systems and Procedures.
Understand and comply with UTEC policies and procedures.

Required

Degree qualified in relevant Engineering or Law/Business Studies discipline or relevant previous experience in a similar environment.
Relevant Cost Estimating / Control experience.
Cost Estimating / Control aptitude, with understanding of the price, cost build and work breakdown structures.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple and fasttrack priorities, with assistance / direction.
Proactive and positive to changes and challenges.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and within teams.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
