SIMS Administrator

  • 3 days per week (24 hours per week)_


  • Pay Range

  • Actual Annual salary £12,003 £13,489 depending on experience_
  • Term Time Only plus INSET days plus 3 weeks in August school holidays_
Responsible to Heads PA/Administration Manager


Job Purpose


This role will be part of the administrative and data team taking the lead responsibility for the administration of the student data in SIMS.


The office is busy and the role will require the postholder to provide support to colleagues during busy times including being part of the reception lunch cover rota.


The position is term time plus three weeks in the Summer holidays which must be the two weeks of the A Level result weeks as well as the week before the start of term.


Main responsibilities:


  • Maintaining staff and pupil SIMS data files
  • Data collection sheets, collating distributing and inputting
  • Uploading new year 7 admissions
  • SIMS Reporting
  • Adding pupils to classes and moving between
  • Census x 3 each year
  • Organising school photographs and uploading
  • Year end processing
  • Year 7 pack and comms with new parents
  • Inputting and admitting all pupils
  • Exclusions/SEN
  • Printing teacher and pupil timetables
  • Allocating classlists
  • Working alongside the data manager in establishing the pupil aims and any data cleansing required for the census.
  • Attendance Cover
  • General office support including reception
  • SIMS Training
  • Support new year 12 admission process
  • Annual report
  • Pupil filing
  • First Aid
As with all members of staff the post holder is required:

  • To achieve service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed with line manager and/or Headteacher;
  • To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings to assist with the effective development of the post and post holder;
  • To be committed to the school's core values and ethos and to demonstrate this commitment in the way duties are carried out, being courteous to colleagues and to provide a welcoming, friendly environment to visitors and telephone callers;
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard to and compliance with the Data Protection and Equality Act at all times;
  • To carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the school and Academy Trust's Health and Safety Policy and relevant Health and Safety legislation;
  • To demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct; showing tolerance and respect of the rights of others whether other staff, students or parents,
  • To observe proper professional boundaries and having regard to the safeguarding and wellbeing of students;
  • The post holder is responsible for ensuring all child protection policies are adhered to and that any concerns or incidents are raised in accordance with these policies.
