What you'll do:


The Business Governance and Strategic Risk Management team within NatWest Market's (NWM) Chief Operating Office supports the NWM macro-level risk environment to drive a forward-looking and dynamic risk management agenda with business leaders.

One of our key responsibilities is to review and assess current risks impacting NWM.

To do this, you'll support a small team to ensure we build and operate an efficient and effective process that discovers, mitigates, and communicates changes to our risk profile.


Day-to-day, you'll be:

  • Working with colleagues across our group and NWM to discover and agree changes to risk
  • Assessing processes and controls across NWM to identify and assess their impact to risk
  • Communicating the impact of risk discovery activities on our current processes and mitigating controls
  • Supporting junior members of the team to deliver risk discovery and impact analysis
  • Developing the interrogation and analysis of relevant management information for effective risk management on behalf of your stakeholders

The skills you'll need:


To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate knowledge of how a large financial services organisation operates and bring experience of working in a first or second line of defence risk role.


You'll also bring:

  • A clear track record of achievement and delivery
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and scenario analysis methodologies
  • An understanding of operational risk management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
