Rethink Mental Illness are hiring an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our inspiring and friendly team across our Devon Services, ECRS.
1 x Part-time role available (21 hours per week - over a 7 day week rota across two ECRS locations in Devon)

As a Mental Health Practitioner I will work under the direction of the Registered Manager/Management Team and as part of an integrated team, delivering high quality recovery focused care and interventions to individuals who use our services.


As a Mental Health Practitioner, some of your duties will include:

  • I assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical support plans based on the physical and mental health needs of the individual utilizing evidence-based practice.
  • Contribute to the development of the highest standard of clinical and professional practice within the service(s) and participate in wider clinical governance meetings within Rethink.
  • I am jointly responsible for delivery and oversight of the clinical care and support of all service users with Registered Manager/Management Team, reporting changes in clients' condition, and to provide prompt and effective interventions according to need.
  • Undertake responsibility for clinical risk and needs assessment and the formation, implementation and delivery of management plans.

  • I ensure a collaborative approach with external professionals and the multidisciplinary team.
  • I provide written reports to professionals such as GP's, Mental Health Act tribunals, CPA or equivalent Reports.
  • I complete and review clinical assessments, CPA or equivalent support plans, liaising with other care staff in maintaining and supporting clients to achieve their goals.
  • I ensure the accurate entry of clinical data onto systems maintaining the highest standards of clinical record keeping.

Essential Skills and experience required for this role:

  • Qualified Mental Health Practitioner or Psychologist, Social Worker, Nurse or Occupational Therapist, with 12 months post registration experience
  • Relevant experience of working with mental health needs, with sound clinical reasoning skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and the ability to recognize the indicators of deteriorating mental health, particularly where people may be experiencing a crisis.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of current legislation, such as the Mental Health Act, DoLS and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Able to deliver a range of treatments /interventions in a personcentered and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Experience of providing training and leadership in a staff team.
