We are a locally based Christian charity organisation working on a number of international projects and we are seeking the support of a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team.
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks, reporting directly to the Accounts Manager.
This is a vital role within our organization, ensuring that financial transactions are recorded correctly and financial statements are prepared accurately.

Duties:
- Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records using QuickBooks accounting software, competence with QuickBooks is essential
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Assist with payroll processing and tax filings
Reporting to the Accountants Manager you will be responsible for:
- Using accounting packages and Excel to perform bookkeeping duties
- Processing data from multiple retail outlets
- Processing data from charity gift income
- Processing data from grants and other such income streams
- Maintaining and updating the company's financial records, including sales, purchases, invoices, payments and receipts.
- Preparing and submitting the company's VAT returns, payroll taxes and payments
- Liaising with external auditors, accountants, and other stakeholders
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks accounting software
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent IT skills including Excel
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a similar industry
- A qualification in accounting or bookkeeping, such as AAT, ICB, or equivalent is desirable
- Excellent numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and problemsolving skills
- An ability to communicate with members of the charity organisation and external accountants
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- To embrace flexible working hours. Hours to be determined, however typically will consist of three to four days per week.
- To strive to ensure the business is streamlined and identify efficiency improvements where possible
- A positive, selfmotivated attitude with the ability to multitask and take responsibility for your own workload.
Role:
This position is currently vacant and will consist initially of 3 days per week, however the days per week may flex dependant on business growth.
