Description
Cordius are working with a precision CNC machining facility supplying the aerospace sector. They are looking for a CNC Machinist to join them in Nottingham.

This role will be responsible for implementing the programmes as designed by the CNC programmer tomanufacture components to customer specifications and aircraft standards on the CNC Machines.


Salary:

£ £17.00 an hour


Working Pattern:

Day Shift (39 hours) - Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 to 15:30


Duties:


  • Perform CNC operations using a variety of different milling machines, to meet daily production targets.
  • Setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts for the Aerospace industry.
  • Understand, interpret and work to Engineering drawings and to work to tight tolerances.
  • Confirm that work produced meets quality and technical standards through 1st off processes and selfinspection.
  • Provide methods and technical support to other members of the team wherever necessary.
  • Develop tooling solutions for both cutting and fixturing as needed.
  • Ensure that full documentation is kept up to date detailing the CNC path, featuring, and tooling information.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Assist in solving manufacturing and quality issues utilising root cause and analysis tools.

Requirements:


  • 2 years Machinist experience
  • At least 1 years' experience of 3 axis and 5 axis operator and setter experience
  • Experience with Heidenhain & Fanuc controls a distinct advantage
  • Team Player with the ability to work alone and use own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience of manufacturing with CNC equipment and controls
  • Flexible approach to working various shift patterns
  • Willingness to be trained across departments, supporting flexible working requirements
