Pay Rate:
£11.59 per hour PAYE


37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours

This opening assignment is for 6-7 months

City:
Sunderland, Tyne and Wear


You will provide support in contract administration, co-ordinating and actioning of servicing and maintenance contracts, and updating appropriate IT systems.


You will give excellent customer care, liaising directly with technical staff, suppliers, sub-contractors, and customers, ensuring compliance with health and safety rules, regulations, and legislation both on an individual and collective basis.


Duties to include:

  • Provide a technical administrative support service whilst delivering a firstclass professional service to customers
  • Act as the main point of contact within Environmental Services for customers to make enquiries, appointments and other arrangements connected to service delivery along with advising and updating customers on progress/delays as and when required and liaising with colleagues to ensure prompt resolution of all queries and recharge disputes
  • Work in partnership with other Sections and Directorates and external organisations. Assisting in dealing with queries and representations from internal/external clients, Council members and others
  • Deal with and support the use of maintenance, scheduling, and asset systems
  • Give excellent customer service when dealing with customers, processing complaints on MS Dynamics/Report It, developing an understanding of Environmental Services
  • Create SAP works orders for all reactive and routine maintenance and servicing requests, including internal sub orders for schemes work
  • Undertake procurement of materials and contractors including obtaining prices via the use of framework documentation or requesting quotations and creation of purchase orders
  • Take receipt of deliveries ensuring the requisitioner is informed of the delivery
  • Process requests for payment; checking invoices for accuracy, goods receipting and working with Accounts and suppliers or contractors to resolve queries and blocked invoices promptly
  • Confirm all operatives' hours in a timely manner and collate return prior to submitting it to Payroll
  • Monitor and update all databases including but not limited to servicing and contracts records, training and health surveillance records, accreditation records, and equipment registers
  • Undertake filing on a regular basis to ensure all paperwork is accounted for and easily accessible

  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.

Unless otherwise stated (we do carry the occasional permanent vacancy) all of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent.
