Are you a motivated, dynamic and inspirational experienced Midwife and passionate about delivering high quality maternity care? If yes, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our dedicated perinatal team
We are seeking midwives to join our fantastic and hardworking team as a Senior Midwife in Delivery Suite and supporting across our inpatient services.
You will work in a supportive environment where our perinatal teams work closely to provide high quality service that meets the individual needs of mothers, birthing people and their babies.
The post holder will have continuing responsibility for a defined caseload/team including appropriate management of resources and contributory responsibility for a defined budget.
The position provides a specialist clinical role in addition to the management of operational issues and the provision of expert health advice.
Essentially this will incorporate the provision of care to patients and their families in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the area, ensuring that values and beliefs are upheld.

The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been necessary to take significant steps to protect the health and safety of our staff, service users and those attending our sites.
In order to comply with our duty of care, we require our staff to have the COVID vaccine and we will ask for proof of vaccination during the recruitment process.
Vaccination will be a condition of employment unless an exemption applies.The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- A clear understanding of the role of the Labour Ward coordinator
- a sound knowledge base around Safeguarding
- Be confident in facilitating evidence based Intrapartum care and supporting other staff members to provide high quality care
- Be proficient in providing to support junior staff with regards to relevant clinical skills such as perineal suturing, cannulation, theatre role, management of emergency situations and management of high risk pregnancies as well as promotion of a positive birth experience.
- The ability to effectively and safely coordinate Delivery Suite, Maternity theatres and Maternity Unit (out of hours).
- The ability to safely manage maternity services operation out of hours in the absence of the Midwifery Matron
- Staff management skills.
