We are looking for an enthusiastic and productive mathematical modeler with an interest in learning new skills and in working with colleagues with a range of epidemiological backgrounds to advance the research agenda on health inequalities in England.
This post is funded by a large NIHR grant examining socioeconomic and ethnic inequalities in respiratory virus transmission in England.
The project aims to understand how respiratory virus infections can exert service pressures on GP practices during winter and if those are evenly distributed across practices and patient groups.
The role of vaccination in mitigating these pressures will be a major focus of the project.
The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic and relevant experience in designing and implementing transmission models.
The post is full time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term until 15 April 2027. The post is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research and available from 01 June 2024.
