Do you have extensive administration and PA experience? We are currently looking to appoint a diligent and organised PA to support and oversee the Leadership Group of Harris Invictus Academy Croydon.

The Academy has a roll of 1,000 students, including a thriving Sixth Form, and whilst we were only founded in 2014 we are rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted [and oversubscribed by parents].


Main Areas of Responsibility

Administration and diary management for the Principal:

  • To present the professional and welcoming face of the academy to all visitors, staff and students, including telephone callers and organising refreshments as appropriate.
  • To manage the Leadership Group's diaries for all appointments and meetings, ensuring a manageable schedule is maintained, it is kept up to date and if needed a daily overview with documentation provided to the Team.
  • To be the first line of contact between the Team and any phone calls, requests from staff or visitors, ensuring only appropriate contact is made.
  • To liaise with Federation admin teams and PAs across the Federation as appropriate.
  • To be able to proofread documentation on behalf of the Team and make amendments or suggestions as necessary.
  • To track delegated tasks where required and monitor progress, chasing any documentation or responses not received and keeping the Team informed as appropriate.
  • To type up, disseminate and file all agendas and minutes for meetings involving the Team as required.
  • To maintain filling systems, both hard and electronic copies as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications:


  • Appropriate degree or equivalent level of education
  • Trained in the use of a variety of ICT packages
  • Knowledge of personal assistant roles and responsibilities
  • Training in typing and formatting of a variety of documents including spreadsheets
Experience

  • At least two years working in school or other educational establishment
  • Working in an inner city school or with inner city students
  • Experience of working to targets and deadlines
  • Experience of managing meetings including preparation and circulation of papers, minutes and ensuring information is circulated as required
  • Experience of managing diaries at a high level, including communication with a range of audiences.
  • Experience of managing high profile events
  • Experience of developing policies, processes and procedures
Personal Qualities

  • Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate exceptionally well with parents and carers as well as other stakeholders in the academy
  • Ability to manage own workload and on own initiative
  • Ability to develop quality control systems
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with a wide range of people, from parents, governors, pupils to outside agencies
  • Commitment to promoting equality and diversity
  • Empathy with the aims and objectives of the Harris Federation
