OVERVIEW

TEST LEAD
OVERVIEW:
The Test Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by leading the testing efforts throughout the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, developing test strategies, designing test plans, executing test cases, and overseeing the entire testing process.
The Senior Test Lead should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Qualifications - Educational:
Essential: Technical Honours Degree, or equivalent
Qualifications - Professional
Essential: Incorporated Engineer or equivalent
Certification in Testing Methodology e.g. ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) and/or SCRUM Practitioner Certification CSTP (Certified Software Test Professional)
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer or equivalent
Experience and Skills:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Test Analyst or similar role in software testing and working in a leadership role.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fastpaced environment.
- Peer Reviews on Test Artefacts/Deliverables
- QA.
- Mentoring Testers.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail for identifying bugs and ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies like V Model methodology, Agile, Hybrid, including manual and automated testing techniques like SCRUM, Kanban, DevOps.
- Handson and proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques, tools and frameworks (e.g. Azure DevOps, JIRA, HPALM, Selenium, Junit, Cucumber, CI/CD, SoapUI, POSTMAN).
- Handson experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Support the engagementwith and contribute to the work of crossfunctional teams to ensure that customer and user needs are being met throughout the deliverable/scope of work.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements e.g. GDPR for data privacy
- Presentation of complex information to both technical and nontechnical audiences when engaging with colleagues, users/customers, suppliers and partners.
- Application of creative or innovative thinking and design practises in identifying solutions that will deliver value for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder.
- Be able to work with mínimal levels of supervision.
- Sharing knowledge and experience in own specialism to help others.
- Demonstrates good organisational skills giving the ability to deliver to timeframes and estimates.
- Projects within the Civil Nuclear Sector.
- Communications and Information Systems (CIS) delivery projects.

- Experience of working with the Sellafield Ltd, Nuclear Decommissioning Agency, or similar.
