Sewell Wallis are delighted to be partnering a large, UK business based just north of Harrogate, who are looking for a Tax Manager to join their dynamic finance function.

This excellent business has one of the best finance functions we have seen, consisting of extremely high calibre individuals, all with clear and achievable career paths in place.

This Tax Manager role reports into the Head of UK Accounting and will manage one direct report who is eager to learn, but will need close supervision and direction to develop them to their full potential.

Therefore, a passionate manager is very important inthis position.
The duties of this Tax Manager role will consist of the following on a day-to-day basis:

  • Line manage an accounts assistant, holding regular ones to ones and delegating where possible so they can develop. Mentoring other junior team members will also be required
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines for UK tax compliance are met in the most efficient way
  • Identify key process improvement projects across the team by regularly liaising with all areas of finance
  • Ensure financial control frameworks is in place and operating as efficiently as possible
  • Prepare and review all UK tax compliance submissions
  • Deliver compliance of internal and external accounting polices
  • Build effective and robust relationships with business stakeholders
To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a recognised accountancy or tax qualification
  • Have experience working within or with, large and complex organisations
  • Confident communicator and man manager
  • Business partnering/effective stakeholder management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
