Head of Gift Cards and Energy - 9m FTC
In this role, you will lead the Gift Card & Energy team and are accountable for the P&L for the Gift Card propositions across the Sainsbury's Group, along with the success of Sainsbury's Energy.
The Head of GC&E sets the direction of travel, strategic roadmap, long term vision and a great culture for the team be able to deliver and excel in.
Effective internal and external Stakeholder management is critical to success in this role.You will need to set clear goals and influence multiple stakeholders internally, and externally, to create the leading gift card business in the UK.
By owning all gift cards for Sainsbury's and Argos you will also have the chance to lead the charge on transitioning seamlessly onto one, best in class, operating model.
You will have to manage third parties and work with technology and product, as well as the broader Sainsbury's team to deliver this.
For Sainsbury's Energy you will define the roadmap for this proposition, ensuring a strong strategic alignment with Nectar and a profitable customer proposition.
Through insight and data on the customer profile you will drive higher value customers to our business and offer a product that attracts customers to Sainsbury's Group.
What you need to do:
In this role, you own two distinct commercial propositions
Gift Cards
Be the face of B2B / B2C gift cards for the business, be confident and comfortable representing the business in the wider Gift Card Market
Define, own and lead the Gift card strategy across all existing customers in a multi-channel environment while continuing to grow the P&L
Ensure that each of the key MRV and large Gift Card accounts have a compelling sales plan
Drive further upsides to the existing selling plan through effective data insight
Spot and define how these opportunities tie in with the broader corporate agenda, particularly with Digital and Marketing
Work in true collaboration with product teams to mobilise a clear product roadmap to achieve the ambitious sales targets
Have effective relationships with Finance to ensure we have best in class reporting on the key KPIs and a consistent view of performance
Focus on strong supplier relationships, challenging effectively to drive a collaborative strategic outcomes that are truly customer focused and benefit all parties fairly
Lead a programme of large-scale change as we work towards one operating model for gift cards. You will need to clearly communicate the rationale for change to third parties, as well as numerous cross functional internal teams to gain buy-in
Create a strong team culture, where all individual colleagues know their role to play, have an ambitious target and get excellent job satisfaction at work.
Sainsbury's Energy
Be the face of Sainsbury's Energy internally and own all external account relationships (typically at c-suite level)
Know the Energy wholesale market, the key trends and have the ability to translate these into a commercial proposition
Work with Finance and Operations to review the profitability and deliver a clear rationalisation
Review the operating model, in tandem with Nectar, realising efficiencies where possible all the while making sure that we are legally compliant
Create a compelling customer proposition within the complexity of the energy market
What you need to know and show:
Significant B2C and B2B experience and knowledge
Technical understanding of Gift cards, digital technology and multi-channel retailing
Strong track record of consistent sales growth delivery
The ability to digest a vast amount of data and translate seamlessly into strategy
The desire to set, own and deliver the agenda for Gift Cards and Sainsbury's Energy
