We currently have a number of fantastic opportunities available for a

Sewage Pumping Stations Operator to join our team based in

Launceston.

You will join us on a

full-time,

Permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of

£24,279 per annum plus a range of excellent company benefits.


In this role you be self-motivated, take ownership and use your initiative to carry out reactive and planned works as scheduled to deliver the day-to-day operation and maintenance to a high standard of the Sewage Pumping Stations.


You will deliver gold standard customer service to our internal and external stakeholders by providing services of the required quality and quantity in a sustainable manner in order to protect our environment.


Shift:


As part of this role, you will be flexible to working hours which include working evenings and weekends as part of the flexible working pattern.

This includes participation in a 1 in 5 standby rotation.


What you'll be doing:


  • Carry out on site monitoring to ensure effective site operation and that compliance requirements are maintained
  • Respond effectively to site conditions and monitoring information that ensure compliance is maintained and the environment is protected
  • Store and Handle chemicals in accordance with COSHH, QMS Procedures and relevant Health and Safety standards
  • Carry out first line maintenance on instruments & mechanical equipment
  • Carry out calibration of equipment in order to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • To use the iSCADA control system, PCs and other computer hardware and software in order to carry out the role effectively
  • To carry out grasscutting, weedkilling and general maintenance in order to maintain site conditions in accordance with relevant procedures
  • Accurate and timely feedback of activities completed
  • Adherence to schedules, business rules and procedures
  • Liaison with Field Support Centre, Catchment Pilot to ensure schedules are optimised
  • Liaison with Recovery & Treatment Managers, Maintenance & Technical Services and other members of the team to ensure site operation and asset maintenance is optimised
  • To deal effectively with customer queries when directly approached and pass information up the management line where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all activities enhance the reputation and image of the company
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely
  • A flexible working pattern is in operation which includes undertaking standby and callouts and working evenings and weekends on a rota basis
  • The ability to travel throughout the region and assist other areas as necessary

What we are looking for:


  • Experience of working in a team and an understanding of the importance of teamwork
  • Previous experience of operating and maintaining assets
  • Proven experience of working with computers and software packages
  • Takes ownership of work, adopts continuous improvement philosophy and has the ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Able to work to a high standard, with a focus on quality of work carried out to enable compliance with our regulated consents and has the ability to problem solve and fault find.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Selfmotivated, able to carry out defined duties with little supervision and deal with queries from the public and colleagues in a calm, friendly and helpful manner
  • A full UK Driving License
