Job Summary
Salisbury Hospice Charity is seeking a talented and creative Marketing & Communications Officer at their fundraising offices in Salisbury.
We are a small team with a big remit, and we're looking for someone to co-ordinate the delivery of our ambitious plans.
This is a varied role offering a solid foundation in integrated marketing and communications for a local charity.-
Please note this is a temporary position covering maternity.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Promote the charity brand and help build and safeguard its reputation externally, and promote the value of consistent, accurate and engaging communications internally.
- Manage the marketing and communications plan.
- Manage and develop all digital platforms, media and digital copy to include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Manage and update the charity website.
- Create and develop digital and print graphics for promotional use.
- Work with the fundraising team to develop marketing plans and campaigns.
- Deliver planned marketing activities, liaising with external suppliers, partner organisations.
- Manage the production of online and offline marketing collateral to promote membership, events and build awareness.
- Manage and develop twice yearly supporter newsletter.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the fundraising and hospice team, to ensure that any potential leads for other aspects of income generation or brand promotion are shared and that a coordinated approach is maintained.
- Produce marketing materials for use at all the charity events and third party events.
- Coordinate direct mail marketing, working with suppliers to make sure that fulfilment is on time, in budget and of high quality.
- Write, edit and proofread marketing copy for use across different online and offline channels, including newsletter to members and subscribers.
- Support the Fundraising Team with the writing and distribution of press releases.
- Support the Fundraising Teams with additional branding and marketing needs.
- Ensure our brand guidelines are adhered to and media consent is obtained where needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- NB E = essential, D = desirable._
- Technical design skills, from the design features in Word and PowerPoint through to Canva, Photoshop and additional Creative Cloud Programmes (E)
- Able to produce copy and promotional materials in good clear English, to a high standard (E)
- Excellent copywriting skills (E)
- Experience of managing and growing social media platforms. Creating and sourcing content (E)
- Experience or knowledge of paidfor digital and social media campaigns. (E)
- A good knowledge of websites, with a working knowledge of WordPress. Ability to effectively manage developers and make basic changes and good working knowledge of SEO principles. (E)
- Demonstrable Knowledge of Microsoft Office software in particular, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook and databases (E)
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written (E)
- Strong organisational and time management skills and with excellent attention to detail (E)
- Able to work as part of a team (E)
- Empathy and understanding of the vision and philosophy of Salisbury Hospice Charity (E)
- Experience of managing own workload effectively and planning and organising work to meet tight deadlines (E)
- Experience of working effectively without close supervision dealing with problems as they arise (E)
- Able to communicate clearly and assertively with people at all levels (E)
- Numeracy, Skills and ability to develop and manage budgets (E)
- Experience in Fundraising (D)
- Working Knowledge of Mailchimp (D)
- Working Knowledge of Hootsuite (D)
- CRM Database skills (D)
Qualifications:
- Marketing qualification (D)
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience of working in a marketing role (E)

£24 - £26k depending on experience
