Reporting to the Penalties Collection Manager you will be responsible for the efficient day to day running of the collection of penalties which relate to Register of Overseas Entities (ROE) and Legislative reform.

The legislative changes that are being introduced mean that these penalty schemes are high profile.


This is a key role which also means liaising directly with an external debt collection supplier to ensure our organisation can meet and deliver its business and strategic objectives.

Therfore ensuring the effectiveness of the end-to-end debt collection process.


You will be a key conduit between the ROE and Legislatative Reform operation teams, finance teams and external debt collection suppliers.

Engaging regularly with both internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively across the buiness to advise and support on the introduction of the finance collection processes for the new penalty schemes.


In future it is likely that this role will have direct reports once volumes and complexities of the transactions are known.


We're currently working in a hybrid way at Companies House and office working at least once a week will be expected with this role.

This role will be aligned to our Cardiff office.


Job description:


  • Advise and support on implementing new collection processes for the ROE/Legislative reform penalty schemes.
  • Liaise on CH Financial penalty operational matters to internal and external stakeholders, including the Customer Delivery Directorate, Finance Systems and Data and Financial Accounting teams to ensure understanding of key deliverables, issues and opportunities.
  • Complex query management, so strong engagement with customers on brand new penalty schemes as well as investigation and resolving any necessary adjustments to our finance system.
  • Develop desk notes and provide cross training and knowledge sharing across all CH penalty schemes including (Late Filing Penalty (LFP) schemes) to ensure that there is adequate coverage of tasks and training to provide the best service possible.
  • Contribute and support on sound financial controls within the processes to help manage and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the LFP team, Finance Systems & Data to resolve system problems and identify areas which require improvement working towards the vision of full automation.
  • Champion strong customer service working closely with internal customers as well as external customer to ensure the best possible service is delivered.

Person specification:


Experience:


  • Sound credit management knowledge.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of finance systems.
  • Ability to prioritise work daily depending on business needs and to use own initiative.
  • Someone who will champion Companies House values,
  • Experience of Microsoft office products

Technical skills:

Desirable for qualification in Credit Management or studying Finance qualification (e.g. AAT/CCAB)
