06/01/202- Our business never stays in one place, so why should we? Our ideal expert can be based from any location.

We are encouraging home working as much as you would like, with the occasional 'get together' as a team once or twice a month in HammersmithJob Purpose:

The Planning team are on a mission to transform Virgin Media O2's planning and forecasting processes through building automated driver-based planning models across all business units

These models will improve forecast accuracy and give our stakeholders a deeper understanding into the performance drivers behind important business KPIs across the company's P&L

The Planning process includes defining targets and translating these into measurable KPI's for the short, medium, and long-term planning forecast, through the build of automated planning models in Anaplan, our planning and forecasting tool.

The Planning team is split into model builders, framework design (where this role sits), delivery/scrum-master support and ad-hoc insight

Framework design focuses specifically on how we want to build driver-based planning solutions, defining the data requirements (and whether any new data needs to be created) and which tools should be used for the solution.

The role also works cross functionally with framework design leads in the Reporting and Performance Management team to ensure we have considered the holistic needs of the business

The Framework Designer will work collaboratively with product owners to understand the business context and develop use cases for the planning models.

They will be responsible for developing detailed framework design for model build to meet these use case requirements, working closely with the Senior Framework Designer and leads from Planning, Reporting and Performance Management.

This will be done through defining the dimensions and forecast drivers for models and obtaining agreement and alignment at all stages from key stakeholders

As well as having significant exposure to senior management within Commercial, Operations and Finance, you'll also engage a broad range of stakeholders within the Digital, Advanced Analytics, Data Science and Data Engineering communities.

  • Ensuring there is full buyin from stakeholders on all major decisions
  • Continuous improvement of processes and means of delivery to stakeholders, with ultimate ambition being automated driverbased planning across all business units
  • Always being one step ahead, proactively anticipating business needs and new initiatives to manage requirements across the framework design squad
  • Lead, contribute to and develop Anaplan "squads" enabling them to maximise the wide range of skills that they bring to the team and supporting them to showcase our modelling insight in a digestible way to product owners
  • Working closely with data squads to ensure data requirements for driverbased planning models are being prioritised and delivered within acceptable time frames
  • Collaborate with Anaplan delivery manager and scrummaster to ensure model build is effectively delivering on the framework that has been designed
  • Value Creation: Identifying and supporting the business in delivering initiatives that maximise revenue and OFCF growth

Must haves:

  • Highly numerate with experience taking large datasets and distilling the information into useful insight to guide operational or commercial change.
  • Proven track record in presenting analysis to stakeholders to inform business decisions
  • Experience of SQL, GCP, data visualisation tools and Anaplan desirable with a desire to build knowledge and skill sets further

Other stuff we're looking for:

  • Expert communicator confident in communicating both within the Finance Insights team and to cross functional business stakeholders, at all levels of seniority
  • Open to working in a change environment, relishes the opportunity to drive change, improve & streamline reporting processes
  • Able to work on several projects simultaneously without compromising delivery
