About the Role:

Bridgewater Surgeries are looking to welcome a Physician Associate.


Under supervision of the GP in the practice, the post holder will provide care for the presenting patient from focused history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.

They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the service. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the decision-making process.


They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.


The post holder will provide a holistic and clinical service, with support and supervision of GPs, implementing agreed management plans and following approved protocols as appropriate.

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • A Postgraduate Degree in Physician Associate Studies from an accredited PA Programme;
  • Membership of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP, which includes UK Physician Associate Registration (the PA Managed Voluntary Register);
  • Current and valid certification or recertification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination;
  • Experience of working in a medicine environment, including preventative medicine and chronic disease management;
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to a varied and high volume workload with the ability to multitask and to work under pressure;
  • Consistently compassionate and respectful approach placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, nurses, other staff and agencies;
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
