We're on the lookout for a new colleague who is understanding, enthusiastic and up for as laugh to complete our amazing #TeamAllander in Milngavie on a permanent, part-time basis.

The Role


You'll be joining a small, friendly and well established team of
Support Practitioners who support a gentleman with a learning disability.

The person we support loves spending time with his family, going out for a coffee in the local community and watching television - football is his favourite


As a
Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting this individual with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, meal preparation, administering medication and the management of personal finances.

Some assistance with personal care is also required, but this is very mínimal.

You will support him to do the things they want to do out in the community and accompany him on any outings, including when attending health appointments.

The person we support enjoys football, watching TV, shopping, visiting cafes and adventures in the car.

You will take an active role in the planning and delivery of person-centred care to enable the person we support to live fulfilling and valued lives, where he can achieve his own personal goals and aspirations.


About You
***We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need experience or qualifications to start your career with us. We have our own Training Academy that'll give you all the skills you'll need, including the opportunity to complete your SVQ.

To be a great
Support Practitioner, you'll be:


  • naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
- able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and set clear boundaries
- able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships different people
- adaptable, confident when lone working and able to use your initiative
- competent in the use of technology to enhance the support you provide, e.g. Microsoft Office and Outlook
- reliable, flexible and responsive to meet the changing needs of the people we support


Shift Patterns


The shift pattern will include a combination of mornings, from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, and evening shifts, from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

Support is provided seven days a week on a one to one basis which will include occasional weekends and public holidays as part of your rota.

If you're successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration.

We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
