£19.77 per day PAYE


Basic DBS check required.

The post holder will be providing day-to-day wrap-around support for Afghan evacuees residing in hotel accommodation in the borough prior to them being moved to more settled housing across the UK. As well as providing general support, the post holder will work with families at the hotel to help them secure suitable longer-term housing to move onto all across the country.

Key responsibilities:


  • To be main point of contact in providing wraparound support to evacuees at the hotel, to deal with daytoday requests and enquiries for help and where appropriate to signpost to other agencies or to your management.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to guests
- verbally or in writing.

  • Keep our records up to date, e.g. hotel accommodation lists, family support files, timetables of activities and rotas.
  • Help with processing of new arrivals (in terms of accessing and registering with services) and departures (including onward referrals)
  • Identify and request help with translation / interpretation from colleagues.
  • Liaise with partner agencies such as charities, health and the job centre etc both on individual cases and more general liaison
  • Liaise with hotel on booking of rooms and equipment for activities at the hotel and similar activities
  • Respond and escalate to issues of concerns, such as safeguarding, by referral to management and following procedures
  • Deal with offers of help from outside agencies and where appropriate, to help coordinate delivery of this help, taking account of all factors such as safeguarding, risk assessments, the actual need for the service etc.
  • Assist with communications e.g. helping organise presentations to the guests, preparation of posters and newsletters and updating of local information guides etc.

"Specific Role Requirements" - to give yourself the maximum chance of success please try and ensure your CV addresses the following essential criteria: Experience & Knowledge / Technical skills

  • Educated to A-Level standard (including GCSEs or equivalent (A-C) in English Language and Maths
  • Significant experience in delivering high quality face to face services to the public
  • Experience in delivering support and advice to vulnerable groups, refugees etc
  • Experience of providing housing advice around housing options and developing and delivery of housing moveon plans (or equivalent)
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with private landlords, lettings agents in the privaterented sector and / or other housing providers
  • Experience in delivery of privaterented access scheme
  • Working knowledge and appreciation of safeguarding
  • Understanding and awareness of the challenges facing the Afghan evacuees in resettling in the UK
  • Proficient in Dari and / or Pashto desirable
Skills & Abilities

  • Skilled in using resources effectively able to manage time, prioritise tasks and multitask
  • Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with guests and colleagues.
  • Good written and spoken English
  • To be experienced in using a range of IT software outlook, excel, word and proficient in manipulation of spreadsheets and other datasources to respond quickly and accurately for data requests
  • A sound working knowledge of welfare benefits and its relation to housing and a good understanding of tenancy law.
  • Understanding of and commitment to team working
