Description
We are recruiting for a Field Applications Specialist (FAS) to join our Single Use Technology Division (SUD).

As an FAS you will act as a trusted guide to our customers, providing scientific expertise, support and training on portfolio (Fluid Transfer Assemblies, BioProcess Containers, Single-Use Bioreactors, Fermenters, Controllers and Mixer systems).

The role & Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales and Field Application Support Leaders to create a cross functional team to exceed our customers' expectations and drive improvements.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to workflow, assay, software and/or instrumentation. Interpret customer needs and identify solutions that may include technical support, sales, service, R&D, or other internal functions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Promote Thermo Fisher Scientific SUD Solutions internally and work with the Sales Team to find opportunities. Promote Solutions externally by introducing our capabilities. Ensure understanding of our value proposition to drive revenue and growth profitability in Europe.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders across all workflows to facilitate demand and preference for Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions.
  • Assist the regional sales team in the development of accounts by giving technical seminars and presentations that promote the use of our products.
  • Work with operations team members to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and that systems are built according to specifications (URS).
  • Collaborating & making recommendations to clients on potential process improvements through utilization of Thermo Fisher Scientifics' technologies & concepts.
  • Communicating Thermo Fisher Scientific Single Use capabilities and value proposition at external conferences and at customer sites.
  • Contribute to post sales activities including
  • Handling of multiple new client requests and coordinating followup in a timely and effective manner, interacting with site management and technical functions.
  • Assist with customer complaints and investigation activities by providing vital technical data and feedback to Sales Support, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and R&D as appropriate.
  • Work with Product Management and R&D to make product improvements for increased efficiency and customer satisfaction. Liaise with management, production, and marketing teams to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
  • Facilitating sustained evaluation and awareness of competitor activities & innovations within the marketplace in general & ensuring that relevant information is circulated within the organization.
  • Personally, responsible for identifying their own training needs and ensuring that professional capabilities and competencies meet the needs and requirements of the sales support team for the relevant product lines and markets.
  • Provide feedback on technical problems and their respective solutions and share expertise & knowledge amongst the Field Application Specialist team.
Minimum Qualifications

  • B.Sc. (or equivalent) in a life science or related field.
  • Experience working within the biotech, biopharmaceutical, biologics, and/or life sciences industries in an engineering, technical or manufacturing capacity and GMP needs.
  • Proficient in English.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of BioProcess Containers and Single-Use systems.
  • Extensive knowledge & understanding of cGMP & other regulatory guidelines for the Biotech and Biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
  • Outstanding project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated and selfdirected requiring mínimal supervision including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent teamworking skills.
