We are currently seeking an Executive Editor to join our team within the Medicine and Health Journals sector.
This role will be responsible for strategic development and management of the multi-section journal, _Annals of Medicine_,_ in collaboration with the journal's Portfolio Manager.
Annals of Medicine is an open access, MEDLINE-indexed, peer-reviewed Journal publishing original research and review material across the major medical disciplines.
Combined with its scope covering translational medicine to clinical practice, _Annals of Medicine_ is the home for researchers dedicated to supporting medical professionals in advancing practice for patients worldwide.
Annals of Medicine currently comprises 31 sections, each covering a different medical specialty led by a Section Editor and including its own Board of Associate Editors and Editorial Board Members.
This position is ideal for an individual looking for a varied role, guiding the growth of these 31 sections and meeting the distinct needs of their related communities through publishing cutting edge research.
What you'll be doing:
- Overseeing the peer review process of the Journal from presubmission to postpublication. Working with the internal teams responsible for paper processing and reviewer selection, as well as external Section Editors and Associate Editors to ensure the highest quality author experience.
- Driving new, highquality original research submissions by supporting and collaborating with the Content Acquisition team and Section Editors to develop Article Collections and direct Commissioning strategies.
- Building author, society, and industry relationships through Section Editor, Associate Editor and Editorial Board member interaction, including leading Section Editorial Board meetings, regular international conference attendance, and delivery of publishing workshops and presentations that educate the research community about the Journal and about the editorial and commercial services and resources available at Taylor & Francis
- Collaborating with the Portfolio Manager, to create Section development plans that evaluate industry trends, competitors, and Journal content to identify both short
- Working with the Portfolio Manager to evaluate Section performance
- Ensuring continuing Journal and product development by monitoring and improving journal metrics and online content usage
- Supporting Section Editors to maintain and develop Section Editorial Boards, helping with recruitment if needed and ensuring all Editorial Board members are appropriately onboarded and receive necessary training and information.
- Working with Section Editors and Associate Editors to ensure consistency across Sections with regard to peer review and decision criteria.
- Ensuring the highest levels of publication ethics and integrity are maintained on the Journal
- Working with T&F's Marketing and Press and Media teams to develop campaigns that highlight the Journal's content and the unique benefits of the Journal
- Developing a social media presence to interact with Authors, Researchers, and other industry representatives through sharing Journal content and information on best practices in publishing
- Championing the Journal with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinating responses to queries from Authors, Editors, and internal teams.
- Keeping abreast of industry news and trends and uses that information to inform Journal objectives and strategic decis
